Preserving the Preserve

Good news!

Last week we participated in the 1st so-called “stakeholder meeting” with the County…Land Trust…LCMWC…several citizens groups…etc…

Minutes before, the County released a Rev. 2 of their 35% plan…I immediately noticed that coming off Obern Trail the MUP no longer meanders through the Preserve…it now T’s off of Modoc…so, we’ve gained some ground back…the first segment of the MUP is now on Modoc Road in existing asphalt infrastructure.

I’ve marked it off with red X’s…initially, several big eucs and a number of iconic heritage Canary Island Date Palms were a done dealio…

Now, there will be no benches…bike repair stations…bathrooms…water fountains…parking lot…etc…
IOW…IF a project eventually gets approved by Land Trust and the La Cumbre Mutual Water Company…it will not resemble a County park…

The Modoc Preserve is a NATURE PRESERVE!

CAMP members…notice the white “dot of death” on the eucalyptus tree in the background…
